Bonjour!
Please take a look at what we have done this past week in French class!
JK:
- We worked on a bingo daubing number activity (ten apples up on top) and played 'dix' to practise counting 1-10
- We learned about colours (rouge, blue, jaune, vert...) and got students to find objects in the classroom that correspond to each colour
SK:
- We started a new unit on farm animals. Students learned about the different animals that live on the farm and the sounds they make (e.g. le cochon - groin groin, le mouton - bêê bêê, la vache - meuh meuh). Here are the links to practice the names of different farm animals and the sounds they make:
- We did fun activities such as "Qu'est-ce qu'il manque?" (What's missing?) and worked on a farm animal puzzle to help students remember the names of the animals
- We practised writing the names of the animals and coloring them
-
- We also worked on a cut and paste activity where students must identify the animals that live on the farm and paste them on the farm.
Grade 1:
- We worked on number worksheets to practise writing numbers 1-30
- We practised numbers 1-100 on the board
- We learned to differentiate between masculine and feminine nouns (un ♂ vs une ♀)
Grade 2:
- We continued to practise writing numbers 1-100 on the board
- We did some revision on the gender of nouns (un ♂ vs une ♀) and practised with classroom objects and worked on a worksheet
- We started learning about 'l'accord des couleurs' (colour agreement) and how colours change forms in French according to the gender of the nouns (e.g un crayon bleu vs une gomme bleue). We practised with some examples on the board.
- Students added colours to the classroom objects of the worksheet that we have worked on from earlier and we practised making agreement with the colours
