Le Jour du Souvenir

Bonjour!

Jour de Souvenir 11 Novembre. Je me souviens

This past week, we talked about Remembrance Day and why we celebrate it. We learned some vocabulary words and sang a song about this special day. Please check out link for the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbULvjtJ_Xk

Students passed around the poppy while saying Je porte un coquelicot "I wear a poppy".

Students traced and/or wrote and colored le coquelicot "the poppy".

The Grade 1s wrote in their journal Pendant le Jour du Souvenir, je porte un coquelicot. "On Remembrance Day, I wear a poppy." and worked on a Remembrance Day word search.

C'est l'Halloween!

Bonjour!

Here are the pictures from Halloween!

The PYP French classes (JK-Grade 1) learned Halloween vocabulary words, sang a song about Halloween, played games to review vocabulary words, and worked on Halloween activity sheets.
  • The JKs singing and dancing to "Le Squelette Danse le Twist".

  • The JKs working on a color by number pumpkin activity!

  • The SKs playing a matching game!

  • Since the SKs are learning about the senses, we talked about body parts, played Simon says, discussed the five senses of Halloween, and worked on a worksheet.

    For example: P
    endant l'Halloween..."During Halloween..."
    • Je vois... une sorcière "I see... a witch".
    • Je sens... des bonbons "I smell... candies".
    • J'entends... une fantôme "I hear... a ghost".
    • Je goûte... des bonbons "I taste... candies".
    • Je touche... une citrouille "I touch... a pumpkin".
