Grade 1:

  • We played hangman to review the names of different animals we've learned.

  • We talked about where animals live and physical characteristics (e.g. L'animal a... des poils, des plumes, des pattes... etc. "The animal has... hair/fur, feathers, legs.... etc".)

Grade 2:

  • We continued to work on our endangered animal group assignment. In groups, we worked together to answer questions about a specific animal's colour, size, weight, their habitat, food, why they are endangered...etc. We then wrote the information on sticky notes to put up on our endangered animal chart paper. After that's all done, we presented the information to the class.

La semaine du 23 au 26 mai

JK:

We continued to distinguish between the different types of animals based on how they move. Throughout the week, we worked on worksheets where we have to color animals that walk ("marcher"), animals that swim ("nager") and animals that fly ("voler").

We played games to review the names of different animals.

We played "Le jeu de dessin/pictionary" as a class. We took turns drawing a picture of an animal and the others have to guess what animal it is.

SK:

We continued to talk about how we feel each day. "Aujourd'hui, je me sens... Today, I feel... content(e) "happy", triste "sad", fâché(e) "angry", fatigué(e) "tired", excité(e) "excited", and surpris(e) "surprised".

We learned new expressions related to feelings:

J'ai  chaud - I am hot.
J'ai froid - I am cold
J'ai sommeil - I am sleepy
J'ai faim - I am hungry
J'ai soif - I am thirsty

We also sang a song called "J'ai faim, J'ai soif". Students loved it! Here is the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFAHXJwUGKI
