Bonjour!

Please take a look at what we have been doing this past week in French class.

GRADE 1:

We continued to focus on inventions. We worked on a package together that includes reading comprehension, vocabulary exercises, and fun puzzles and word search to help us learn more about inventions.

SENIOR KINDERGARTEN:

We continued to focus on community helpers/professions. We talked about where they work and what tools they use. Students helped match the community helpers with their workplace and equipment. Mlle.Jessica also read books to us about some of the community helpers and we answered some questions about them.

JUNIOR KINDARGARTEN:

We continued to review numbers 1-20 by playing various number games (including "dix" and Bingo) and working on a cut-and-paste numbers worksheet.

Please take a look below at what we have been learning about this past week.

GRADE 1:

We learned new words related to inventions as part of our UOI. We started off with a game of broken telephone to introduce the unit. We then talked about some common verbs and linked them to the appropriate invention (e.g. le téléphone - parler, la télévision - regarder, l'avion - voler, etc.). We played a matching game to match the verbs with the corresponding inventions and charades to review these verbs. We also worked on a worksheet about inventions.

                                      

SENIOR KINDERGARTEN:

We learned new words related to professions/community helpers, talked about what each of the professions/community helpers do and answered some questions about them. We took turns sharing what we want to be when we grow up and drew a lovely picture.

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN:

We learned how to count up to 20. We learned a new song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsEz58BblMY) and played various number games to help us practice counting to 20.
