La deuxième semaine

Bonjour à tous!

Here is an outline of the activities we did in French class this week.

 Grade 1/2 :
  • learning how to talk about ourselves and what we like/dislike using Je m’appelle.. Je suis… J’ai______ans.. J’aime… Je n’aime pas..
  • working in pairs and presenting the information in the third person’s perspective.. e.g. Il/Elle s’appelle…. Il/Elle a____ans….
Grade 1 :
  • learning how to talk about ourselves and what we like using Je m’appelle.. Je suis… J’ai______ans.. J’aime… and presenting this information to others
SK:
  • reviewing body parts and singing tête épaule, genoux et pieds (encouraging students to take on leadership roles leading the class when singing)
  • exploring the five senses: la vue, l’ouïe, le toucher, l’odorat, and le goût, what are the body parts involved, and what they do e.g. avec les yeux, on regard… avec la bouche, on mange…etc
  • identifying which sense is involved with the use of pictures
JK:
  • learning new toy vocabulary words e.g. une marionnette, une poupée
  • playing hot potato game with a twist: passing the toy along while singing “On va passer la poupée, la poupée, la poupée…” until it stops at someone and the last person holding the toy will have to say what it is e.g. “une poupée”. This helps students remember new vocabulary words.
Here are some pictures. Enjoy!

Excellent work everyone. See you tomorrow!

Le jour de la rentrée!

Hello parents,

Today, the PYP classes played a name game to start off the class. We tossed the stuffed animal (turtle) around to get to know each other's names in the classroom. We learned how to introduce ourselves and ask for others' names (e.g. Je m'appelle______. Comment t'appelles-tu?) We also went over classroom rules to ensure that students understand what the appropriate behaviors are in the classroom. Another fun activity we did was making handprints and drawing/writing about the things we like. This was an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. Below are some pictures of what we did today. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks,
Mlle. Jessica
