Le Jour de la Terre

Bonjour à tous!

This week, we celebrated Earth Day. We talked about what we could do to protect the Earth (E.g recycler, marcher, conserve l'eau...). We also sang a song "J'aide la Terre" that has the same tune as "Are you sleeping Brother John? (Frère Jacques)" nursery rhyme.

JK:
  • We made a booklet, called "J'aide la Terre", that talks about how we can help the Earth. Students traced the word "la Terre" on each page.

SK:
  •  Students took turns coming up to the front in pairs to sing the song.

Joyeuses Pâques!

Bonjour à tous! Joyeuses Pâques! Happy Easter everyone!

This week, we mainly focused on Easter. We learned Easter vocabulary words and worked on activities related to this special holiday. Take a look below.

JK:
  • We learned to differentiate between living and non living things with Easter/spring words

  • We did a cut and paste activity where students had to cut and spell out the letters "L-A-P-I-N", which means "rabbit/bunny" and then color the picture of the Easter bunny.

  •  We worked on an Easter coloring activity.

SK:

  • We worked on an Easter color by number activity.

  • We did a cut and paste activity where students had to match the Easter words with the pictures. They then had to copy and write out the words.

Grade 1:
  • We worked on an Easter vocabulary worksheet where students had to match the words with the pictures.

  • We worked on an Easter reading comprehension as a class. For the activity, students took turns reading the instructions and followed through carefully by doing what the instructions told us to do (E.g. Colorie le lapin en gris "Color the rabbit grey"). We also worked on a fun word search.
