Please take a look at what we did in French class on the second week!
JK:
- We started learning about the days of the week to prepare for our daily calendar routine. We sang "les jours de la semaine" song that sounds like "Oh My Darling Clementine".
Il y a sept jours,
il y a sept jours,
il y a sept jours dans la semaine:
lundi
mardi
mercredi
jeudi
vendredi

et dimanche.
- We learned to identify ourselves as "garçon" (boy) or "fille" (girl). We sang and danced to a song about "Les filles et les garçons" that sounds like "Farmer in the dell" song.
- Students are able to express which gender they are (e.g. Je suis un garçon "I am a boy" or Je suis une fille "I am a girl"). We completed an activity sheet where we colored which one we are.
SK:
- We reviewed the days of the week and are starting to learn about the months to prepare for our daily calendar routine.
- We sang "les mois de l'année" song. Here is the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_u2SigckNQ
- We learned to put the months in order from janvier to décembre.
- We practiced saying the weather with actions (e.g. il fait beau, il fait chaud...).
- We played "dix" to review numbers 1-20.
Grade 1:
- We practiced singing "O Canada" in French to prepare for our weekly anthem in French (happening every Tuesdays and Thursdays).
- We reviewed the days of the week and months of the year and started doing the calendar together.
- We also practiced saying the weather with actions (e.g. il fait beau, il fait chaud...)
- We played "dix" and matching game to review numbers 1-20.
- We worked on a cut and paste activity where we had to cut the words out and paste them under their corresponding numbers (1-20).
