Bonjour!
This week, we celebrated Earth Day. We sang a song called "J'aide la Terre", which has the same tune as "Frère Jacques" nursery rhyme.
Please see below for more details of what we did in each grade.

This week, we celebrated Earth Day. We sang a song called "J'aide la Terre", which has the same tune as "Frère Jacques" nursery rhyme.
Please see below for more details of what we did in each grade.
JK:
- We briefly talked about Earth Day. We traced and coloured a picture of our Earth.
- The JKs started on a new unit learning about the different modes of transportation (land, water, air). Students have to sort pictures of vehicles by mode: air "dans le ciel", land "sur la terre", water "sur l'eau".
SK:
- We talked about what we could do to protect the Earth (e.g recycler, marcher, conserver l'eau...).
- We completed an activity where we wrote one thing we could do to help or protect the Earth and then coloured the Earth.
- We talked about what we could do to protect the Earth (e.g recycler, marcher, conserver l'eau...).
- We made a mini book that talked about how we can help the Earth. We traced and coloured pictures in the book. After completing our book, we got to read it to a friend.
- We wrote in our journal one thing we could do to protect the Earth and drew a picture.
- We talked about sorting waste: recycle, poubelle, and compost. Students were presented with pictures of the different types of waste and we tried to figure out where they go.Then, we completed a cut and paste activity on sorting the waste.
