Please take a look at what the PYP French classes did this past week!
JK:
- Students worked on a toy worksheet
- Girls were given "une poupée" worksheet to trace and color
- Boys were given "une voiture" worksheet to trace and color
- We learned a new song called "Mon petit ballon". Students loved to sing while passing the ball around and got very excited as we sang faster and faster every round.
- We had an opportunity to bring in our favourite toy to present!
- We learned new colors: orange, rose, violet, brun. We passed around the objects with each color and practised saying the colors.
- Students also got to go around the classroom and search for objects that correspond to each color.
SK:
- Students worked on a final assignment where they had to write and draw a farm animal, what color it is, and what product it provides.
- Students also got to work on a color by number activity of farm animals
- We then moved on to a new unit: Sensational Senses. Students played "Simon Says" and sang the "Tête, épaules, genoux et pieds" song to learn about the different parts of the body. Here is the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS1uofMBNoA While playing "Simon Says", some students got to be the caller and practised giving directions!
Grade 1:
- We continued to talk about responsibilities. We discussed about how to be responsible at school. Students are able to express how they can be responsible at school by forming a full sentence "Je suis responsable parce que...je porte mon uniforme."
- Students got to write in their journals how they can be responsible.
Grade 2:
- We played "Simon Says" and "Pictionary" to learn about the different parts of the body
- We also worked on a body part labeling worksheet and monster body part coloring worksheet
- Students also participated in a whole-class activity where they had to create a monster. Students took turns drawing body parts of a monster on a chart paper based on descriptions provided by the other students in the class. For examples: "Le monstre a...une tête rouge/The monster has.. a red head" or "Le monstre a...trois yeux jaunes/The monster has three yellow eyes".
