Below is a summary of what the PYP French classes did the past week.
JK:
- We reviewed colors and numbers
- We played games to review Halloween vocabulary terms
- We worked on a Halloween number activity: we traced numbers 1-5 and colored the pictures
- We also learned about some clothing items and played "Qu'est-ce qu'il manque/What's missing?"
- Students learned to understand and respond to simple questions about clothing with "oui/non". We did an activity where students have to stand up if they are wearing a certain type of clothing (e.g "une robe" or "un pantalon").
- We worked on a Bingo daubing activity. The girls worked on "une robe" and the boys worked on "un pantalon".
SK:
- We played games such as "Jeu de mime/Charades" and freeze dance to review Halloween vocabulary terms
- We learned about clothing items, practiced saying what we were wearing, and played "Qu'est-ce qu'il manque/What's missing?" to review clothing terms
- We reviewed Halloween vocabulary terms and worked on a Halloween word search
- We talked about what we dressed up as for Halloween and wrote in our journals with the following model: "Pour l'Halloween, je me déguise en..."
- We also talked about clothing items and learned to distinguish between the nouns by using: C'est un... C'est une... Ce sont des...
- We practiced saying what we were wearing and played "Qu'est-ce qu'il manque/What's missing? to review clothing terms
Grade 2:
- We played "Jeu de mime/Charades" to review Halloween vocabulary terms and worked on a Halloween word search
- We practiced saying what we dressed up as for Halloween: "Pour l'Halloween, je me déguise en..."
- We also talked about clothing items, learned to distinguish between the nouns by using: C'est un... C'est une... Ce sont des... and make color agreement with the clothes we are describing.
- We practiced saying what were wearing and played "Qu'est-ce qu'il manque/What's missing?" to review clothing terms
