Bonjour!
This past week, we talked about Remembrance Day ("Le Jour du Souvenir") and why we celebrate it. We learned some vocabulary words and sang a song about this special day. Please check out the link for the song "Beau coquelicot": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbULvjtJ_Xk
Students passed around the poppy while saying Je porte un coquelicot "I wear a poppy".
Students worked on a coquelicot "poppy" craft.
The Grade 1s wrote in their journal Pour se souvenir des soldats, je porte un coquelicot ("To remember the soldiers, I wear a poppy"). We worked on a cut and paste Remembrance Day vocabulary worksheet where we had to read the simple text and fill in the blanks with the correct word. We also worked on a Remembrance Day word search.
