Bonjour!

Please take a look at what we did in French class this past week!

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN:
  • We learned some vegetable vocabulary. We talked about our favourite vegetable and described its colour (e.g. "J'aime la carotte. Elle est orange." I like the carrot. It is orange.)

  • We sorted the fruits and vegetables according to the correct category.

SENIOR KINDERGARTEN

We played a game of  "Jacques a dit" or Simon Says to review body parts as part of the senses unit.

  • We talked about the five senses, what body part is connected to each sense  and completed a worksheet.

  • With the help of flash cards, we talked about what we see, hear, touch, taste and smell.
Avec les yeux, je vois...
Avec le nez, je sens...
Avec la main, je touche..
Avec la bouche, je goûte...
Avec les oreilles, j'entends...

  • We discussed the sense of taste. We talked about the two different flavours (e.g. sucré and salé). We used flash cards to help us classify foods under the appropriate category and then worked on a cut and paste activity.

GRADE 1

  • We learned about the different types of dinosaurs, their physical attributes/what they have (e.g. des pattes, une queue, des cornes, un long cou, des dents, etc.), whether they are herbivore (ceux qui mangent des plantes) or carnivore (ceux qui mangent de la viande)...
  • We sang a song about dinosaurs:
  • We worked on a worksheet where we labeled the name of dinosaurs.
