La semaine du 15 au 18 octobre

Bonjour!

Here's an update of what we have been learning this past week in our primary French classes.

JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN:
  • We learned more colours. We took turns saying each colour and went around the classroom to find objects that match with each colour.
  • We played various fun colour games.

SENIOR KINDERGARTEN:

  • We reviewed the names of farm animals. We continued to practice our farm animal vocabulary by playing a game of Charades. Students were able to easily name the different types of farm animals we have learned in class and the sounds they make!
  • We sang a song about farm animals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ms7e7O7TRk .
  • We practiced writing the names of the animals and colored them.
  • We also worked on a cut and paste activity where students must identify the animals that live on the farm and paste them on the farm.

GRADE 1:
  • We talked about responsibilities at home. We discussed the different ways we can be responsible at home (e.g. Je brosse mes dents "I brush my teeth". Je fais mon lit "I make my bed".)
  • We played "Jacques a dit" and "Charades" to review the responsibility expressions.
  • We completed a worksheet where we had to fill out the responsibility under the appropriate picture with the help of the flash cards.
  • In order to put it into action, students wrote in their journal how they are responsible at home and were also given a daily responsibilities chart to keep track of what they have done or how they have been responsible at home each day.
